Eligibility - MDS - Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics

The minimum qualification for admission to the post graduate program is pass in BDS with permanent registration of any State Dental Council.

Admission to MDS under General category

The admission under the General category will be on the basis of NEET PG ranking. Centralised counselling for allotment of seats will be conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA )

Admission to MDS under NRI / Management category

Students seeking admission under the NRI/ Management category should also be NEET PG qualified. The candidates should fulfil the eligibility criteria prescribed by KEA for admission under this category. The counselling for this category will also be conducted by KEA.

The payment of fee shall be in foreign currency or from the NRE account of the Sponsor.

Documents to be produced at the time of admission

  • NEET PG Rank / Score card
  • 10th Std marks card/pass certificate for proof of date of birth – Original + 3 attested photocopies.
  • BDS Degree Marks cards of all years - Original + 3 attested photocopies.
  • Internship Completion Certificate - Original + 3 attested photocopies.
  • Provisional / Degree Certificate - Original + 3 attested photocopies.
  • DCI Registration Certificate - Original + 3 attested photocopies.
  • Transfer Certificate from the institution last attended – Original + 3 attested photocopies.
  • Conduct certificate from the institution last attended – Original
  • Eligibility Certificate issued by the Registrar, (Deemed to be University)
  • Migration certificate from the University last studied
  • Physical Fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner
  • Photographs – Recent color photo with white background, of resolution 300-600 dpi & size 35mm X 45 mm (Passport size) & 20mm X 25mm (Stamp size)
  • Aadhar card copy of the student

  • Parents / Sponsors Passport Copy
  • Residence Permit copy of the Parent / Sponsor
  • Working / Employment Certificate of Parent / Sponsors (NRI candidate)
  • Sponsorship Letter
  • PIO card (for person of Indian Origin)

For Foreign Nationals – Additional Documents to be produced

  • No Objection Certificate from the Government of India
  • AIDS -free certificate from a competent medical authority
  • Residential Permit issued by the Foreigners’ Registration Office and the District Superintendent of Police
  • Passport & Valid Students VISA for the period of study
  • Aadhar card copy of the student

Program Outcomes

At the end of the program, graduates will be able to...

  • PO1 : Demonstrate an understanding of basic sciences as relevant to conservative/restorative dentistry and Endodontics.
  • PO2 : Perform a physical and oral examination of the patient, identify normal and abnormal functioning of various systems of the body, take proper chair side history, examine the patient and perform medical and dental diagnostic  procedures; as well as perform relevant tests and interpret them to come to a reasonable diagnosis about the dental condition.
  • PO3 : Diagnose and recognize conditions that may require multidisciplinary approach or a clinical situation outside the realm of the specialty, which he or she should be able to recognize and refer to an appropriate specialist.
  • PO4 : Perform infection control measures in the dental clinical environment and laboratories.
  • PO5 : Adopt ethical principles in all aspects of restorative and contemporary Endodontics including non-surgical and surgical Endodontics.
  • PO6 : Perform all levels of restorative work including Aesthetic procedures and treatment of complicated restorative procedures.
  • PO7 : Describe and manage etiology, pathophysiology, periapical diagnosis and management of common endodontic situations that will include contemporary management of trauma and pulpal pathosis including endodontic-periodontic considerations.
  • PO8 : Diagnose, plan and execute challenging clinical cases requiring comprehensive management strategies using contemporary materials and techniques in the specialty of conservative dentistry and endodontics.
  • PO9 : Demonstrate communication skills in particular to explain various options available management and to obtain a true informed consent from the patient.
  • PO10: Apply moral and ethical standards while carrying on human or animal research.
