Oral Hygiene Day

As part of the Oral Hygiene Day celebrations, an Oral Health Awareness Camp was conducted on 8th August 2024 for school children at Sevanjali Prathista, Farangipet. The event, attended by 139 children, was organized by the Dept. of Periodontology, ABSMIDS. under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Amitha Ramesh, HoD and coordinated by Prof (Dr) Biju Thomas and Prof (Dr) Rahul Bhandary.
The camp aimed to promote oral health awareness among school children, with a focus on preventive care and early detection of dental problems. The screening was conducted by the postgraduates of the department supported by the staff members Prof (Dr) Nina Shenoy, Dr. Amita Rao and Dr. Reema. During the camp, students were given an informative talk on the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene. A screening process was conducted to identify children with dental issues, and those needing further treatment were referred to the Nitte Farangipet Dental Rural Center for follow-up care. To emphasize the importance of daily oral care, the children were provided with toothbrushes, chlorhexidine mouthwash and Paradontax toothpaste. The event was successful, significantly raising oral health awareness among the participating students.
