The Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, ABSMIDS launched N-TRAC (Nitte Trauma Awareness and Care) and celebrated Children`s Day with the students of Sri Ramakrishna Aided School, Harekala on 11th November 2023 to commemorate the National Pedodontist's Day.

The program was officially inaugurated by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Prof. (Dr) US Krishna Nayak, Principal & Dean, ABSMIDS. Prof. (Dr) Manju R, HoD welcomed the gathering and gave a brief introduction of N-TRAC. Prof. (Dr) US Krishna Nayak and Prof. (Dr) Mithra Hegde, Vice Principal, ABSMIDS spoke about the importance of dental trauma awareness. Dr Ananthu, Sr. Lecturer introduced the Chief guest, Prof. (Dr) Arathi Rao, Associate Dean, MCODS, Mangalore. Dr. Rao gave an informative and inspiring speech to the children.

This was followed by the launch of N-TRAC project by releasing the leaflet. Dr Prajna explained the plan of action of N-TRAC. Dr. Meghna Bhandary, Sr. Lecturer delivered the vote of thanks. Dr Krithika, Sr. Lecturer was the master of ceremony for the inaugural function. Various competitions were conducted for the students and prizes were distributed to the winners. 75 students from the school participated in the competitions with enthusiasm and vigour. Refreshments and stationery kits were distributed to the students. Tooth pastes and drawing kits were sponsored by Group Pharmaceuticals. The competitions were judged by Prof. (Dr) Vabitha Shetty and Prof. (Dr) Srikala Bhandary.
